Located north of the Saharan platform, it stretches from the mouth of the Draa to the immense palm grove of Tafilalet and separates from the High Atlas by a wide furrow punctuated by oases to end in the Sahara.
The Tafiater - the place that gives the water - is embedded in a barrier of pink granite. Erfoud, one of the most important oases in Morocco, is the starting point for excursions to the first great Saharan dunes.
