My wife and I had a wonderful 4 weeks in Morocco. Sanae was friendly and very helpful in organising our accommodations, transport and places to visit . Absolute Morocco - Magical touch. For my birthday, I looked for a unique way to experience the day and make it memorable. When I mentioned my fear of heights and my desire to face it by taking a flight on a hot air ballon. Sanae worked her magic and made the day unforgettable. I used Absolute Morocco to coordinate a hot air balloon ride and provide some dining options while in Marrakech. Sanae connected us with an amazing hot air balloon experience outside of the city. She also arranged an authentic belly dancing/dining experience at a phenomenal restaurant. I highly recommend Sanae for both her professionalism and for her knowledge of all that makes Marrakech an incredible travel destination .
We came to Morocco with some ideas in mind of what we wanted to do but no reservations to tours/attractions. With that being said Sanae came to the rescue! We told her some of our ideas and she gave us recommendations to a trek into the Sahara for a camping excursion which turned out to be a once in a lifetime experience! It was peaceful and magical. Have you ever gone on vacation and thought: "f, i want to go home?" Or "ehhhh.. we should have gone to ______"? Coming from the US to vacation in Morocco with my sister, shortly into the trip, i thought my vacation was lost. After one day in, we were ready to leave Morocco. It wasn't fun - the hotel we chose was drab, the food was decent but for the price, there was no variety, and we couldn't figure out how to do things; minus asking vendors on the main road.
In an effort to save the trip, we came across Absolute Morocco and everything turned around: fun, food and relaxation.
First, we were booked for a camel ride through the desert! Our guide was nice, funny and professionally. Also, the camels (technically Dromedary per our guide) smelled pretty good; Better than any ruminant i have sniffed. We didn't want to run while riding the camels, so we didn't have too - we got to do what we wanted. My sister was afraid of the camels so the guide gave her time to adjust and taught us about the animals. By the time we finished, she loved her camel and was petting him on his super soft nose.
Absolute Morocco also scheduled us to enjoy an excellent restaurant and spa day. Overall, this experience saved the trip and turned around our initial impressions. Highly reco! I will work with Sanae again, on my next trip!
This was undoubtedly the best organised, best led and most fun-packed tour that we did in Marrakech. I had a couple of days to spend in Marrakech before I went to the coast to surf (Taghazout , Essaouira...). I figured I'd do something different, and found this attraction on Absolute Morocco.
I will not explain the entire course of the day here, but rather elaborate on some key aspects of the experience.
But first of all - this is really worth every penny.
If you have never been in a string hot air balloon before - you're in for a treat.
On my trip, we were all "air balloon virgins". However I would not hesitate to go again.
Rajab is the guy who runs the show. He is the pilot of the air ballon, but maybe most of all a classical entertainer that made the entire morning very enjoyable. He made us all feel safe and sound, from beginning to end. The day started with a driver picking me up outside my hotel at 6.45 prompt. We then went to get the other passangers, and then the car headed for the desert. This Tuesday morning was a really foggy day. In fact - we drove thought the thickest fog I've ever seen. I honestly thought the ride would be cancelled, but Rajab reassured us that it was okay.
We got to the launch site, and had some coffee and pastries while Rajad explained all the security measurements, we were involved in the process of getting it inflated! After a while we got into the basket, and were headed up, up and away. After about ten seconds of flight, everything was white around us, and we couldn't see a thing for a while. Then all of a sudden we broke through the layer of clouds. This is honestly the most breathtaking moment of my life. We saw the atlas mountains in the horizon and had the sun in our eyes. I simply couldn't stop smiling. it was insanely beautiful.
After we got safely back down, we had a lovely breakfast (with the amazing moroccan mint tea) The berber breakfast once you land is immense (if the berbers ate as well as we did every day, they would be obese!). The day ended with the camel ride, which was also very nice. It was all over before 1pm, and I had the rest of the day to explore Marrakech. The camel ride is also great fun - and much more comfortable than any camel ride I've taken before!
Absolute Morocco made our trip to Morocco fantastic in every way. Abdul was our private driver for 10 days, and he was the most kind, knowledgeable, and courteous driver we could ask for. He took us to some truly local places, knew people everywhere, and helped out in the rare instances where we needed some translation (most people speak enough English for tourists). He also had some terrific playlists that made the longer drives very entertaining. I totally recommend Absolute Morocco.
